Search results only show dated articles stating that Thomas Edison "seeks to become a University in 2015". I don't see any other news or articles on it, though.

They had planned to make their formal application to the NJ Commission on Higher Education in the spring. It's actually a pretty involved process in NJ, so I wouldn't expect to hear much until late summer or later. I mean, George Pruitt is a respected administrator and TESC definitely meets the criteria so it will definitely happen, but we can only wait until it does. To be honest, I'm extremely supportive of the fact that NJ is one of few states that controls the usage of the word "university" because it helps differentiate institutions based on purpose.
