Hi Guys,
I'm wondering if anyone knows anything regarding what shmoop classes can easily be transferred to Excelsior, and possibly what their catalog equivalencies are. I was planning on going to TESU after I finished my UL and LL Shmoop classes, but it doesn't seem like that's going to be a possibility. I have just over 60 credits from Shmoop, and I really don't want them to go to waste.
Side note: If anyone has any knowledge of the technical writing program at Excelsior, I'd love to hear about your experiences with it.
Sorry, I know this is a lot of stuff to wade through.
Thanks guys.

I don't think anyone here has equivalencies for the Shmoop course catalog at Excelsior. There are not many EC or COSC students posting their evaluation equivalencies here, so we don't have much data. Most of the results we see are TESU based.
Your best bet is to reach out to Excelsior and submit your transcript for evaluation and see where things shake out, and then upload your results here.
However, one note is that from my understanding, EC (and COSC) usually go with the ACE and NCCRS recommendations as is. As such, everything in the Shmoop catalog is recommended by ACE as lower-level credit, so chances are EC will not evaluate any of those credits as upper-level.
TESU used to take some of the Shmoop courses as upper-level before they stopped accepting them at all, but they were the only one that did.
Working on: Debating whether I want to pursue a doctoral program or maybe another master's degree in 2022-23

I agree with Merlin that you aren't going to get UL equivalencies for any Shmoop courses except Geometry, which is the only Shmoop course that actually ACE-approved as UL. TESU was being generous in how they brought in the Shmoop courses, but EC won't be.
I also agree that you should just apply at EC to see what they do with your credits. That's going to be the easiest thing (and they are faster than TESU so it's not a month-long wait).

I recently graduated from Excelsior. I can tell you that 99.9 percent of the time they will follow the ACE recommendations when evaluating transfer credits.
