TESU - Gen Ed - Free Options
#11
mvmrn Wrote:I have 3 general ed credits left. Are there other free, easy options like Aleks or The Institute (done both of those) that can get me those credits. I've spent a lot of time searching but it seems like some of the older options no longer work like Kaplan and TEEX (for general ed). I'm actually in an older catalog (2014) I need to get this over with. Thanks for any direction anyone can point me!

This happens often, Haha, you know what you should do, tell us what courses you have by placing it here or on a spreadsheet...
We can be giving you a whole bunch of answers, but NONE of them applies to you as it may be something you already have taken...

If you have drive far, then they might be. I can study for and pass a CLEP faster than I can complete an ACE course.

Totally depends. I took 2 CLEP's and 2 DSST's on the same day, and passed them all. I think I studied for them a max of 2 hours, total, for all 4.

For someone who already has the knowledge to take the exams, CLEP/DSST is the easiest method by far. It's when you don't know the material that you start opting for other methods. Or if going to a testing center is not convenient for you.

Cyber security for Business Professionals comes in as CIS-344 (2 cr gen ed elective)
Cyber security for IT Professionals comes in as CAP-385 (2 cr business elective)

Unless you are in an old catalog (2014/15 or so), there is no "business elective" category. So, I think you're talking about the "electives" area underneath the Business Core and AOS - in which case, these are Free Electives.

I am in an older catalog, as appears to be the case with the OP as well.
