I have seen this provider pop up several times lately.
Anyone have first hand experience?
What are they offering that is of value to us here? Who has evaluated their credit?

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this). Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

They have at least 3 ACE-evaluated/ACE-approved history courses.
I tried to make shmoop work for me (for the learning experience, I don't need more LL history credits), but couldn't get past the extreme wordiness of the site.
The teaching style/website uses quite a bit of sarcasm to teach, which I think would be really appealing to some, but with hours of studying and even with the helpful suggestions from other df members, I couldn't pass the chapter tests I tried because I often couldn't tell what they were actually asking(!).
So my personal feeling is that shmoop is definitely a very specific niche provider that probably won't work for everyone... but for those it does work for, it's currently an inexpensive way to earn 9 LL credits.

I completed the first US History course. They are ACE evaluated. Here is a link to the current approvals: ACE CREDIT | The National Guide to College Credit for Workforce Training
The value is the history credits are extremely cheap (i think the price is changing), and they are not proctored. Not to mention, the material is very well written (IMHO). I really liked the course I took, if i had more use for history courses I'd love to take it through them. Think Aleks for history credits, and you wouldn't be far off.
Currently studying for: Still deciding.
Done!

Yes, I saw that. But I'm wondering how they are accepted by TESU; what course requirements would they fill.

All three currently accepted by TESU as they're ACE-approved. They're planning on having more ACE approved courses soon, as well (Math and Lit).

This is excellent news. I'll be signing up this evening and starting the three history classes. Hopefully I can get them done in the next month or two. Only having to pay $50 would be great. I'll be keeping an eye on them to see what other classes they offer. Hopefully they don't price themselves too highly.

hilarious I tend to do that kind of thing too. And that flexibility (yes, even to be impulsive and jump into a course just because I decide I want to) is one thing I love about alternative credit opportunities.
