Hi, I'm a member of the Pentagon Federal Credit Union, and information was sent out about a personal finance course that could be worth college credit. And there are some scholarships. Hope it helps someone.

FYI it looks like this is Grantham granting 3 hours credit for taking the Pentagon FCU course, similar to how the Big 3 grant credit for Straighterline or FEMAs.
#1 This is probably not transferrable outside of Grantham, assuming it is not transcribed as a native Grantham course.
#2 If it does show up on the transcript as a native Grantham course, Grantham is nationally accredited and NA credits are not accepted at regionally accredited schools.
Would be really cool if this were usable at the Big 3.

Unless it's ACE-approved it definitely will not transfer to the Big 3 because Grantham isn't regionally accredited. I was unable to transfer 2 courses I took at Grantham in 2007 (way before I learned about the Big 3) because of this. Don't take Grantham's word for it either! Make sure it's on the ACE website. I recall someone getting burned by Penn Foster when he/she took a course that they were told was approved but turned out wasn't.

That was such a debacle that I did a whole writeup of it on the wiki warning people about Penn Foster. They really need to get their act together. They used to be a popular place to get cheap ACE credits but they've been causing people problems lately. Harming your customers is a really stupid business move.
