just starting bsba at TESU - need academic credit before I will finish bsba

All, to add more context to my situation, here is my third question.

I am in a hybrid sales and marketing role. My HR requires that I have a "4-yr degree" and I was told it is a requirement for my job level. I was asked when I would complete my undergraduate. I have the job role already and the high pay but I almost nearly threatened.

I already know it is not realistic to complete 120 credits within a year with TESU. I read on this forum where some have tried and succeeded this fast pace but it doesn't seem realistic. It may, but It seems more like a 2 yr goal.

I asked my HR if some sort of academic certificate would work for now and she said it would help my situation out 'politically' if I had some sort of REAL ACADEMIC credential that was considered graduate or undergraduate that was in my field. She mentioned if If I complete something by summer next year it allow me to buy some time in terms of enforcement of their policy.

It seems like they don't want to get sued for being unfair to new people coming into the company - I suspect they have some sort of requirement for all Director level titles to have academic credentials on the record and since I have been with the company since start up- and now that the company has grown up and brought in real HR practices, I suspect HR has formalized their policies, etc.

If I decided to do something along this line, I would prefer if possible, to have my short term band-aid also apply credit to my TESU degree path.

Is this viable? Would this be another reason to register with TESU before 7/1 versus waiting to bank up credit along the way?

I also ran into Harvard Graduate Certificate in Marketing Management. It looks like from what I read you can take 4 courses at grad level and get their cert which is also potentially able to accomplish the same thing. the summer 7 week class in marketing managemetn just started yesterday and I could still start this but this cert would be $11k approximately and I suspect the credit could be used by TESU as well so at least i am not wasting my time. i would just hate to pay $11k to harvard extension for grad cert before my bsba is finished ... strange

Hopefully some of you on here understand what I am asking and perhaps some of you may have some insight on this.

My suggestion, SKIP everything here and just get the BSBA Marketing or General Management degree as they are the easiest.
If you're wanting to transition into IT, then I would recommend CIS over either of those two, but that doesn't seem the case here.

For myself, I am thinking exactly what you're thinking... finishing the BSBA and then moving to an MBA or Masters degree.
In the meantime, to enhance my skill set, I obtained CBE/PDU for Six Sigma and Scrum (even though they're more refreshers for me).

You may want to concentrate on your degree first as you should be able to complete it in 1 year following the guide I created.
If you dedicate the time and energy into it, you should be fine. I anticipated 10 months for myself and I am rolling along as planned.

I even had a bit more time (even with two young kids) to do these side certifications, and i'm still on track. I love multi-tasking!

If you need something fast then what about Colorado State University Global's Certificate in Marketing. It consists of 5 courses that can be all be completed by testing out using CSU's Credit By Exam.

They can then be used in TESU's BSBA in Marketing

Honestly, you can definitely do a BSBA in less than a year if you're really dedicated to it. If you're a good test-taker, or fast reader, I'd bet you could do it in 3-6 months. Again, with TOTAL dedication. With the incentive you have to get this done, I'd be putting all else aside and getting going on this.

A good thing you can do is get started quickly on a bunch of items: sign up and complete some ALEKS courses ASAP, do the free Ethics course TODAY, take every Saylor course unproctored final this week, schedule several proctored finals for next week (ones you did well on and can pass), sign up for a few CLEP/DSST exams for the next couple of weeks, sign up for SL and take a course, etc.

I'll bet you could get a plan in place, and get 30 credits done in less than a month, and have something to show HR that you are on it!

The first 60-90 units are easier than the last 30, so if you can get as many done as possible - go crazy on SL every night of your life for the next couple of months - you can seriously accomplish this very quickly.

And skip all the other stuff you are thinking about and go for the TESU BSBA in Marketing. The other things will all take longer and won't get you your degree.
