Basically I had memorized the IC cards and skimmed the REA book. The reason I failed was because the questions were not really testing my knowledge of the subject, but more like they gave me a political cartoon and I had to choose the best interperatation of it. Or another type was they gave me some kookoo graph to decipher and identify some factor or other...basically I was not tested on what I had studied at all.
I dont mean to be discouraging, I just wanted to share my experience...I wonder if anybody else had a similar test?
My exam had the same kinds of questions, I thought they represented stuff from IC and my other sources well enough. Some of them required more analysis than others. I think they were testing the ability to apply the knowledge and not just rote memorization of facts. The ones that threw me for a loop were the questions on art! I only got them right because I saw them in a guide book right before my exam. My questions went like this....
The following chart best represents ________ from the 1920's:

This cartoon best describes the artists feelings towards FDR as:
a.) optimistic for the future
b.) regretful that he voted for him
c.) anger at his social programs
d.) disappointed that he isn't doing more
(I made these up just as an example, btw)
I wouldn't stress out about it too much; sometimes you win & sometimes you don't. The important thing is that you dust yourself off and start studying for your next exam!
