It depends on what your college accepts. There is a 6-credit Uexcel test for physics and Straighterline has calculus-based physics I and II with or without lab. I don't know when AP exams are offered, but there are AP physics tests.

U of Idaho has an option, Physics-Independent Study in Idaho-University of Idaho self paced, start anytime, have up to a year to finish (if you need it), $100/credit.
Snickerdoodle is starting English Comp 2 there....might be worth PM'ing her to get the scoop.

Does your school require a lab? If not, and you want to go the test route, see if it accepts the DSST Physics test: http://getcollegecredit.com/assets/pdf/d...ienceI.pdf
They also have Astronomy as an option, if your school counts it as a Physics course: http://getcollegecredit.com/assets/pdf/d...ronomy.pdf

The DSST is Physical Science. If the OP just needs credits in the general area of physics, then physical science and astronomy might work. If the OP needs Physics I, then physical science is not the same thing.

wow thanks for the quick response, that is why this site is the best, everyone helps everyone. Law-dude and sanatone, WGU is having a problem with the dsst principal of physical science, however i i have an appealing it. i think it should count. so i am looking for options if they do not see it my way. i intend on getting masters in teaching science through WGU. sanatone not sure what Uexcel is can you shed some light on that? rebel100 thanks for your info university of Idaho looks to be a definite options. cookderosa suggested ocean county college (i messaged her the other day. the woman is a savant in navigating this stuff.) if they take the dsst that will be the route i am going to take. i will keep informed for others having this problem. if any other ideas i would be grateful.
Uexcel exams are by Excelsior in partnership with Pearson. They have ACE recommendations for college credit. In the near future, Uexcels will be combined with Excelsior Exams to form Uexcel ECEP.

CLEP really needs to offer a college physics equivalent to the AP Physics exam. They have chemistry CLEP with lab questions, maybe they are anxious about adding a test people will struggle with passing? A physics test without giving the student equations would be pretty rough, talking about trigonometric physics verse calculus-based physics.
CLEP: Intro. Psychology -- 69, American Literature -- 61
CLEP's I want to pass: German (60 or higher) Calculus

Does anyone know how difficult the Excel physics exam is?

I thought I once saw a school's equivalency chart mention CLEP Physics. CLEP used to also offer a 6-credit accounting exam.
