Help me.....
#1
I need to take and obviously pass the Spanish CLEP. I took Spanish in HS 20 years ago. I live in NYC and have exposure to the language. Passing this exam will complete my graduate degree in Special Ed.

How intense is the exam, or is it pretty general? I want to bang this thing out in 4-6 weeks time.

Feedback APPRECIATED!!!

Hi there and welcome. I think you will get a number of different opinions on how tough the test is. If you're an IC member, you should check out the specific feedback forum. If not, you can still find quite a few threads with a forum search.

I personally thought that the test was challenging, but then again, I would not have been happy with anything other than a perfect score based on my level of fluency.

I would highly recommend spending the ten dollars on the practice test on the CLEP site. See how you do before you go spend 100 bucks on the real thing. Spanish really isn't a test that you can cram for very well, so if you take the practice test and do ok, then study really hard for a few weeks and you'll be fine. However, if you're nowhere near passing, you may want to look at other options. (just my opinion, others may disagree)

Hope this helps!

Do you have any spanish speaking friends that you can speak to?. Or if you don't have spanish speaking friends, maybe wathing a movie with the spanish Subtitles might work. i took the test and got a 64. Im native (brazilian)portuguese speaker and this test wasn't to hard.i speak a little bit of spanish, but i studied a little . I think that if you do good on the practice test and you can understand spanish , you should be ok.
