few questions
#1
okay I'm pretty confused by alot of this so I'll just ask

If you take 6 credit hours how much left over is there of the pell grant and how much can you barrow through subsidized loans?

I'd need money to do the cleps, that I don't have so need to know

How much is it to go to charter oak and get a tech degree w/ only 1/2 the credits from actual classes? (not counting clep fees)

Once you go to one of the big three, do some courses and some cleps...do the clep/other tested credits transfer out to community colleges (i'm looking at ivy tech)?

I read the fees explainations on their sites and i'm freaking lost! I am one of these peps thats doesn't need alot of these prereqs though and I don't want to waste time when i can clep.

thank you! this site is cool btw

Are you in Indiana? I'm sorry I cannot help with your financial aid questions, but I know that Ivy Tech in Indiana does accept a lot of CLEPs and DSSTs, but they award credit differently than ACE recommendations. For example, DSST Here's to Your Health is only worth 2 credits, but a high score on a foreign language (Spanish or French) exam could get you 16 credits. They do have a breakdown of which ones they accept as which courses on their site. http://ivytech.edu/prior-learning/Clep-D...il2009.pdf

If you have any more Ivy Tech questions I might be able to help since I'm getting ready to take two classes there this term for my English degree at Charter Oak (World Literature and Public Speaking), so let me know if I can help!

Edit to Add: This cost comparison thread may answer some of your financial questions, but be advised that some of these fees have changed slightly since we did the comparison, and Charter Oak now has a Capstone Course requirement that will increase the cost of a degree from there: http://www.degreeforum.net/excelsior-tho...kdown.html
