Just make sure that the PF courses you take are ACE-approved and can transfer.

Thanks everyone! Are the straighterline courses set up so that you have to go thru slides or watch videos and then take a test at the end of each section? Can you just read your textbook and go take the final?

You are only required to submit exams and assignments as listed in the grading criteria. You can skip the videos, textbook, ungraded quizzes, etc. Many of the classes are 4 shorter exams, 1 longer midterm, and a proctored final.

Looks like the COSC cyber security might be the winner as long as I can test out, or almost test out of it. I am going to get my final course for my machine tool technology degree, and then start on a bachelors.

Thanks, but the main point is my math skills can't handle physics, calculus, etc......I am going to try to find time to work on that through some online courses though.

Does anyone know if I would be able to transfer all my credits to a school with one of the generalized "technical studies" concentrations for an associate's, just to get it out of the way before starting a bachelor's? And could I then use my gen ed credits to get a bachelor's from the same or different school?

Also, when applying for one of the big 3, can one look at multiple degrees to see where one's credits fit best?

If you haven't tried higher math in a long time, I might suggest you take another swing at it. Khan Academy and others of their ilk do a much better job of explaining these concepts than random community college professors from my past, IMHO. It might click this time. If after a a few lessons, it still feels like trying to read Sanskrit, then at least you know and no harm done.

Not certain what you mean by this. You can always transfer your credits in to a school, it's just going to be a matter of where they will fit. But every school will have an AA/AS with specific requirements to it that your credits will have to fit into. No school will just let you bring in whatever 60cr you happen to have and make a customized degree.
For example, at TESU, there is a BSAST in Technical Studies - with 38cr of Gen Ed's and 21cr of the major - and then some free electives. And in your Gen Ed's you have to have College Algebra and Physics I & II. Bad news at TESU - you have to pay the $2,000 residency waiver to get your AA. I don't think it's worth the money, there are other schools with cheaper AA/AS's.
No idea on COSC and EC, but they will have their own degrees, with their own requirements.
If you want to know more, you could list the credits you already have, and have us see where they might fit best.
