Glad to see new MS program from UT Austin with affordable tuition of 10k, especially after 2U acquisition which raises doubt about edx future in launching affordable program like this.

The curriculum looks solid, basically MS CS with full on AI courses from beginning to end, have nice mixed of classic and modern AI courses.

Cool! For future reference, UT Austin goes by UT. UTA is UT Arlington.

UT Austin's online masters have very competitive admissions though (they're much more selective than Georgia Tech for online programs). I would expect the same for this new MS in AI.
Acceptance rate for online MS CS: 37.67%
Average GRE for online MS CS: 320
Acceptance rate for online MS Data Science: 31%
Average GRE for online MS Data Science: 321

The page on edX seems to indicate a looser admissions policy.
I get the sense they've modeled this program closer to the Georgia Tech options.
"Prospective learners interested in the online program must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution by the time classes begin. Applicants may be admitted with a degree in a related field that demonstrates their capacity for success in a technical field of study. Examples would include computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, statistics, data science, and mathematics.
Applicants with degrees in non-technical subject areas may be eligible for admission if the admissions committee determines they have completed sufficient relevant coursework to be fully prepared to pursue graduate study.
No GRE scores are required to apply."
