I was around here years ago getting on track to do the WGU BSCS degree. Some life things got in the way, and I had to put my goals on hold. After coming back around here I've decided I want to do the Pierpont BOG AAS to UMPI pipeline. I plan on starting the TEEX courses after the holidays and will eventually start getting credits through Sophia. I'm in no rush however as I'd like to do a bunch of free courses to learn a bit more to make things easier for myself. I'm also holding out hope that UMPI will add some type of CS degree to their offerings but if not, I have no issue going after the BLS in Management Information Systems.
I'm very much into computers, programming/coding specifically. I do know HTML, CSS, and a bit of JavaScript so that W3Cx course looks right up my ally. Thank you for all the suggestions.
Basically, what you want to do is a trifecta of certs, degree, experience, and a good mix/match of them. What I propose is the following, the Pierpont BOG AAS with an emphasis in Info Systems, ladder that up to the UMPI BAS with a minor in MIS and 3-4 classes towards an exemption for the UMPI MAOL later.
Here are the links for the Pierpont BOG AAS, you want to get as many Sophia.org Computer/IT classes, Coursera certs, TEEX that will get you the emphasis and 40+ or more 'technical credits'. Pierpont BOG AAS & UMPI BAS Links: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Category:Pierpont
Thank you so much for the information! That's definitely the path I want to follow. I'll be starting the TEEX courses alongside the EDX ones. (I started CSS Basics today). I know the EDX courses are not ACE recommended but I'm just doing them for the extra knowledge. I was extremely unprepared last time I attempted to get credits. It took me way too long to get 2 classes done (StraighterLine: ENG101 and Sophia: STAT1001). However, I did pass them.
