I'm trying to discern how much time is available per student, and how often the 'time used' resets.
I've used it a couple of times to review papers and the advice seems pretty decent. Just curious what others experiences are.
Also, does anyone know the rates if you go over your allotted time available?

Oh! I was thinking it was a brand name the school had for something. Excelsior gives things really odd names.

While I cannot answer your questions, I've used it a few times to review papers. The turnaround time was excellent, and I received decent feedback. I definitely plan to use the service for important papers in the future.

Yup, sorry! Usually I'm a little less sloppy.

If you are a TESU student, you get the Smarthinking.com (note, only one "t") service which is another Pearson service (they seem to have their tentatcles in everything). You can buy it separately if you aren't enrolled at TESU, but from the looks of it, the cost is about $35-45 per hour of tutoring or essay review.
It seems like a pretty nifty benefit. The comments I've gotten back so far seemed like the person actually spent some time and gave meaningful and thoughtful advice.
What I can't tell is how much time I get. It starts with 3 hours. I had submitted two essays for comments, and after both were returned, it looks like I had about 40 minutes of time left... but then, the next time I logged in, it had 180 minutes. So maybe that's per week? I don't know.
Also, if a moderator happens across this thread and would like to change my misspelling and maybe add Smarthinking.com to the thread title it might be helpful to others.

In my case, despite submitting my request on a holiday weekend evening, I received the response later that same night. This was astonishingly fast. Now, that particular paper wasn't long or complex. However, I'm very impressed so far.
