I order used textbooks from amazon sellers all the time, just be sure that they have a high rating and you should be OK.

I use amazon and ebay alllllll the time. Search by ISBN number, not title, and you'll likely get a great deal! *not all the time, but I've really gotten some fantastic prices. Then of course, you resell them.

I see a wide variety of prices for books on
Amazon. Do you bid like Ebay or do you
purchase what ever you want. I see some
books for several dollars that maybe old but
it is all I can afford. Is it easy to set up an
account.

It is that easy! Amazon is the usual place for me to buy books, abe, textbooks.com and chugg are other favorites.
The school bookstore is a big profit center where the school seems to attempt to fleece their students.
As little as some classes use the official textbook I no longer really worry much about condition, just seller reputation and price. Don't give the school bookstore your hard earned money!!!

I use Amazon all the time for books. Usually there are a lot of options because there are many individual sellers selling books back. You don't have to bid like Ebay, you just pay the price listed plus shipping listed. I always check the rating of the seller too. They are less expensive for new books too when you order direct from Amazon. Usually I buy my book and sell it back on their book buyback section. You get an Amazon credit, and then I use that to buy more books. Good luck.

Im not sure why we now have two threads on this?
I will add that if it's a book I absolutely have to have right now I will generally buy it direct from amazon itself...they usually have it to my door on time, very good to deal with!

I buy textbooks from Amazon -- often at way better prices than school bookstores. I got my quantitative methods text for $40 vs. $150.
Their buyback program makes me pretty happy too. For testing however the public library saved my life (and wallet).
