I don't think studying for two at once is a bad thing.
I tend to do only one subject per study session, so for example if I'm studying Money and Banking (like I should be doing right now instead of typing this) I'll only review that material in that session. Tomorrow though I'll pick up where I left of in Astronomy (If I ever stop cruising this forum to procrastinate M&B studying). I'm smart enough to understand the difference between the a money multiplier and the Milky Way. Barely.

Take one hard one with one easy one. (or one that you have some knowledge of with one new subject). For example, I would suggest one of your exams could be A & I Literature. That one you can't really study for- and then combine it with one you are working hard on. Another you could use is English Composition with a second harder test.
Later, once you earn a lot of credits in one area (social science for example) and have already taken some histories, ologies, etc, then it would be an "easier" test to take the 6 credit subject test for that category. (same thing in science)

I was going to do it... I only had two tests to take Intro to world religions and org behavior-- but at the last minute I decided (with how little I was really seriously studying) that I needed to focus on one and then the other.
I was nervous as I could be when I went to take the org behavior, but after I finished (and with a pretty decent score) I realized that I could study the weekend for the religion and come back soon the following week which is what I am doing.
I think I actually preferred it this way because I could focus on one thing at a time (since they were definitely not related) and not confuse my brain.

I've used 2 different strategies for studying for 2 tests in a short period of time. First strategy is combining 1 easy & 1 hard (with the definition of easy being someting I already know a lot about, and hard being something I only have a little base knowledge of), for instance, Computers & Apps along with Intro to Psych. Second strategy is 'subject stacking', for instance, study hard on base subject (i.e., Intro Psych or Biology) and then build on that base by further study for related tests (i.e., Psych: Human Growth & Dev & Ed. Psych or Biology: Enviro Science & Natural Science.)
