Passed this test with a 57 this morning! Big Grin

My total study time for this exam was about 11 hours including short breaks and three 30-minute power naps. I was reviewing the 'exam specific' notes even as I walked into the test center.

Thanks again!!
Did you take this test at a Prometric site? I took the paper test at the military base and my understanding is I have to wait approx 3 weeks for results. What gives? How did you get your results so fast? Must be because your a Senior Squire! This is the only DSST test I will take because I need all UL from here. Maybe I crammed too much. I put in probably 25 hrs.

That's exactly right - I got the results quickly cause I'm a Senior Squire! Hahahahahaha By the way, I didnt notice that I was 'senior' until you pointed it out.... I think I was just a lowly squire a few days ago.

If you take the computer (internet) version of the test, you get instant results and your school gets the transcript much quicker also (10 days vs 4 to 6 weeks). Go here to find a test center near you - look for the ones with the mouse icon (meaning they offer compter version of the test).
You can't fail if you never give up

Okay, my brain is fried! It could be because within the past couple of weeks I've already studied for, taken, and passed three other exams, and my brain simply is not ready for another one. It could also be because I purposely stayed away from any science type exams because I knew that was my weak point, and the IC cards have a lot of scientific stuff in them, such as neurotransmitters, axons, dendrites, etc. (none of which I can seem to wrap my brain around). The specific exam thread does not say a whole lot about that information, and I know IC tends to overwhelm one with information that is not on the test. Is that the case here? I'm really hoping so...

Anyway, another issue I'm having is in the drug names. If I am asked about the "known" names, I can do it, but my goodness, there are a ton of long names for these drugs that all sound the same. Let me clarify - if I am asked something about Ritalin, I'll know what it is. If they ask me something about Methylphenidate (the generic version), I won't have any idea what is being asked.

Thanks for any insight anyone can give me. As much as I truly am grateful to IC for their flashcards, this forum has been a lifesaver!

Don't get that wrapped around the axle when it comes to the specific in-depth names. Just study the cards and study the chart for the classes of drugs. Be sure to read every one of the Specific Exam Feedback posts for this exam as well.

There's no magic to this process, just tons of repetition. I don't have a photographic memory, I just went over and over and over and over the cards until I could recite the answers/explanations in my sleep. This takes time and determination but it IS something ANYONE can do...you just have to want it bad enough.

Trust me, when its all over with you'll be glad you did it. Lee

I did manage an "A" so maybe it wasn't too bad. But it was more in depth than I thought it would be going in. In hindsight, it probably will be about the easiest exam I'll take. My feeling is always be prepared, who wants to take any of these again??? By the way GettinMyBA, I too have been promoted. We're almost in management

I just left the test center with a 57 on this test. Thanks to all the posts on here, the IC flashcards, and the 3 Peterson's tests I made it.

Not sure, but I'm so close to my BS... need to redo English since I cleped w/o essay, I think I'm just going to take the class for the heck of it. But with my other tests, I think I only need ONE maybe TWO tests and I'm done!

Thanks to those that contributed to this site!
