I don't think so. Sounds like a "Butt in seat" type of thing. Good if you are in one of their areas!

I saw that, but that leaves more questions than answers.
Where is it- in my home town? With what companies? I see my husband's employer/university is a partner college, but he's never heard of it. Who provides the education? What classes? If its classes are at the university, why is it ACE evaluated and not on a college transcript? The class titles you "may" participate in are vague and strange- not college level at all, more like 050 developmental. What kind of stipend and how is that arranged? Is it enough to live on like the Health Corps provide, or is it $200/month for beer and pizza? What about the business attire you see the kids wearing- and where are they at? They are in a group setting, so everyone learns together? Is there a practicum guide for the apprenticeship? In other words, what are these guys learning over this year? If it's sorting mail - forget that. Who are the supervisors? What criteria is used for approving programs for placement? Having a background in creating an apprenticeship program- I will tell you that they are missing HUGE chunks of details here. Who is accrediting and who is supervising the job site?

The website sucks. Digital information takes 2 seconds to provide and modify, there is no excuse for being so vague.

Just wanted to share something that might be cool, I didn't really dig into it too much.
The courses that transfer to ACE look alright to me. Project management I and II even transfer in as 3 UL Credits.

I'm pretty sure I applied for this years ago. If I remember correctly it is an IT / Business training program that last a year. You are butt in seat for 8-12 hours a day. You do not get paid. There might be a bit of a stipend. It is beneficial if you are near a big metropolitan area such as DC or NYC. First half of the program Is butt in seat, second half is internships.

I believe they help you get a job and you pay back a a percentage of your first years salary. (Could be mistaking this with another program though)


Not sure why I didn't do it. Back then though if I had started I would have gotten kicked out :willynilly: sooner or later.

Obama has spoken about the program and said it was a good program. It is for lower income people.

Edit: After looking at the website I can already tell it's grown a lot since. Back then ACE credit wasn't an option. They didn't have nearly as many career training options, or locations.

My sister in law did year up..... its 6 months of classes (alot of high level IT stuff)... then 6 months internship. It's B&M and kind of strict. They mark you down for things like not dressing professionally in class. Its basically to teach young people that have never had a job how to dress and act. There's alot of mock interview training, resume building, etc. Its pretty intesive.
