I thought she was going to tear my paper apart. I'm so happy and glad to be finished with my project. :hurray: But, I also feel like I accomplished a lot. I didn't feel like my Capstone was just busy work. I truly felt like it was a culmination of everything I learned.
I can't believe I have to wait 52 days for my degree to be conferred. I may go stir crazy. :willynilly:
But, YAY, I'm all finished. I can't believe I completed my BS at COSC in just two semesters only taking one class this summer. In December of last year I was expecting another two years before I got to this point. I'm so glad I found this board.
Remember about 6 months ago when I told you how fast the 2 terms would fly by?

Yes, I remember. When I read that I was like....
.......when I started. I really cannot believe how fast it went.

I made a 95% on my Capstone. What I don't understand is that the last draft she said there were no more changes and "well done" and to go ahead and submit it. Then, she gave me a 95% with no feedback. But, I guess whatever. I still maintain my 4.0. *insert stink face*

Hey, what issue/topic did you do your capstone on?

I created an appellate brief to my State's Supreme Court based on a (criminal law) fact pattern my classmate and instructor helped me select.
It consisted of the following:
Part 1 (Introduction)
Project Introduction
Fact Pattern
Part 2 (Appellate Brief)
Coversheet
Index
Table of Authorities
Questions Presented
Statement of the Case
Statement of the Grounds for Appellate Review
Statement of the Facts
Summary of Argument
Argument
Conclusion w signature block
Certificates
It was the best way to display what I learned for my concentration. It was a lot of work. I think a research paper would have been easier! I've been a paralegal for more than a decade but we don't handle criminal law cases and we don't handle criminal appeals (usually firms specialize in appeals) so it was all new territory for me. I learned a lot though.

Wow, sounds like an involved exercise. The good thing is that you now have a writing sample to provide to future employers. One that they'll find relevant, even if it isn't a firm specializing in appeals. Good luck with all of the future courses and tests.
