This certificate program is not only for college counselors; I think students and families could benefit from the easily digestible info here. I'm not an in-school counselor at the moment, but I was able to sign up, and I just wanted to share it with this community. The info below is taken from the original post where I found out about the cert.
"The Financial Aid Certification is designed to assist high school counselors and college advisors (and IECs, and anyone else) on ways to properly guide underserved and Title 1 students through the ins and outs of the often daunting financial aid process in college admissions."
"Each lesson is delivered in video format and available on-demand so you can work the program into your schedule. There are 9 lessons with a total of 22 videos that cover everything from the cost of attendance to evaluating financial need packages."
The videos are typically around 5 minutes or less, and each lesson is followed by a multiple choice quiz with a handful of questions. You can retake them an unlimited number of times, and even download the slides. You do receive a PDF certificate after completion.
