Has any one taken the CLEP for World Civ 2? Any pointer would be great...
Then I have to decide between Rise and Fall of Soviet Union or Modern Middle East... Any suggestions...?

Well, I can comment on the two latter tests.
I am studying for Intro to Modern Middle East right now and it is driving me out of my mind. There is SO much information--the history of a dozen or so nations over the course of hundreds of years. I like history, but I have spent a few weeks on this (on and off) and it is not going well.
On the other hand, I studied hard for three days for Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union. It wasn't easy, but compared to Modern Middle East, it was a piece of cake.
So... that's my experience. It may not be the same for everyone, but I hope it helps you make a decision.

I only used IC for Soviet Union... that, and a little Wikipedia. With Modern Middle East, I'm using a book called A History of the Modern Middle East by William Cleveland. It's a good book and I just got it from the library, instead of buying it. I'm also using IC, but the cards for this topic seem a little disjointed.
