Which of the big 3 suites me best?
#1
Hello all!

I have been Participating in the community the last few day, and I have been doing lots of reading but I am still left with tons of questions and need answers! :-)

First off which of the big three is for me?

So far I have been mostly looking at tesc, because I've heard great things.

My track of learning is business with concentration during undergraduate as accounting. I plan on meeting Florida state credit requirements for my CPA but mostly for marketability and introduction to high profiled accounting and finances. I would like to study finance afterwords as I am genuinely interested in both subjects and feel they mesh well together for job marketability.

So far my favorite thing about tesc is the bs ba acc-msm degree track. I would like to participate in a short msm program and continue to MBA finance focus. But I have not read much into the other big 3 schools, but I am interested in the pros and cons of each school.

Areas of interest for me for pro/cons:

Which of the schools works best with fasfa?

Which of the schools have the best customer service?

Which of the schools widely accept test-out credits and aleks?

Which offer the best learning experience?

Which of the allow you to take the most credits per semester or yearly / which school will allow me to finish classes the quickest?

Thank you for answering or reading my questions! All insight and opinions are welcomed and appreciated.

Ps: I am sorry about grammatical errors I am on the iPhone

Thanks,
Drs

I have completed 2 degrees at TESC and I can tell you that it has been a pretty great experience. The classes are 12 weeks long, the school allows you to transfer in all of your undergrad course work, you can CLEP/DSST out of many of the business requirements and the costs are reasonable if not the lowest.
BSBA CIS from TESC, BA Natural Science/Math from TESC
MBA Applied Computer Science from NCU

Sorry I don't know much about these three colleges (I'm doing a local community college).
But just to point out, finance and accounting are related but still different. If you are going for a CPA you'll probably want to do an accounting major and then you can minor in finance or something else if you want. In order to get the CPA there are requirements of accounting credits you have to have which you will probably not get with an MBA in business and possibly not even in a finance program (Please note: requirements are different depending on the state and I'm not sure about Florida, but either way prospective employers will want to see that you have a nice amount of acct classes if they will hire you as their accountant). If you are more interested in finance, I'd recommend doing finance and then you can go for a CFA. I'm right now almost done with my BBA with a major in finance and a minor in business management so I'm pretty familiar with the difference between finance, accounting, business degrees etc... Hope that helps Smile

COSC was great, GREAT regarding financial aid, responsive, creative, prompt....I really could not have ask for more.

I would rate their customer service as generally excellent, with that said I couldn't have fomulated the plan I executed with their assistance alone....this forum really helped in that regard.

All three accept 100+ credits towards your degree. All three take ALEKS, COSC requires 2 courses be completed at COSC in order to graduate. I am happy with this for two reasons. 1st it upholds the academic integrity of the school and the distance learning process...I'm not knocking the schools that don't have any residency requirements, but I think we are seeing a move in that direction and I believe its a good thing. 2nd the Cornerstone course at COSC was an excellent primer for the subsequent classes I took both there and at Colorado State Pueblo. It was an excellent learning experience!

I don't know of a regulation at any of the Big 3 that restricts how many credits you can bring in, they may have limits on how many courses you can take....but taking courses at the big three, especially if your out of state, is a waste of money IMHO.

How many credits do you have? Do you plan to test out or go to classes? Financing it yourself or have to have aid in order to get going? I don't think you can establish residency here in Florida for at least 1 year, that will affect the tuition costs available to you.

Welcome to Kissimmee, I live just south of there. Been to Gatorland yet?

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this).  Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.
