Which is easier? CLEP Psychology or CLEP Sociology?
#1
Any ideas? Also, which one has the best study material out there?

Thanks for your input!

I think CLEP Psychology is a little easier, but they are both pretty easy to begin with. I used the REA book in addition to IC when I studied, and found that the sociology book was really difficult to understand, but IC made everything clear...Best of luck!

Everyone is different but, Psych was a little easier for me for whatever reason. IC plus the specific feedback section was more than enough.

Good luck,

I took them 2 weeks apart last june, i thought they were very similiar. Studying for one seemed to help with the other. I used IC, Official CLEP book, and Spark charts. I also did the Petersen test.

PM me if you need some study guides.

I feel both exams can be passed with good scores. Psychology demands more outline information over sociology. You need to know a little biology with the psychology exam.

Hi,
I am totally new to this CLEP thing. What are REA and IC study guides? Are these tests fairly easy? How do you know what books to study for each test? Last, do these tests count towards your GPA or not?

Thanks for any input.

REA is a study guilde resource REA Online - Making The World Smarter. I have not used them as I have used the condensed Pass Your Class resourse and had enough success with that and instacert. IC = instacert = very helfpfull. They are a series of very helpfull flashcards that give you a base level of knowledge for the exam. FYI... the explanations are as important if not more so than the question so don't ignore them. Instacert is like $20 a month for unlimited access to a bunch of different tests. Try instacert.com. Also, clep, ap, ib and other tests that give you credit don't count towards your GPA. Your college or university will just have a min standard they will accept and you must get that to receive credit... Hope this helps, Kim

I found the Sociology to be easier, based on broader concepts. The Psychology definitely has more Biology in it, like the previous poster said.
Sociology was my first clep, studied for one week and passed with 76.
Good Luck!

Sociology is easier! Studied 4 days, no prior experience. Struggled a little on Intro Psyc, but take HG&D right after Psyc if you need HG&D credit. Took Psyc a month ago and HG&D yesterday. Studied only 1 1/2 days and passed with a 61! Best Wishes!!!!
