I don't think it matters which you take first as there are very few (if any) overlap. If your question was between Principles of Mgt and Organizational Behavior or Business Ethics, then I'll suggest Principles of Management first.

At least for me, Princ of Marketing seemed easier. I'd knock it out and use the extra time to study for Princ of Management.

Have you taken any business courses? Any psychology courses? (Not sure psychology would influence which to take first, but it might.) If you have taken other business courses, that might affect which course would be easier.

I took marketing before management. Did it make a difference? Not really. I also took it before intro to business, and it actually prepared me for it somewhat. Although, I'm sure if I took intro to biz first, it would have prepared me for marketing. All that matters is that you is that you take the intro courses before the upper level courses (strategic management, org. behavior, HR management, etc.)
Flip a coin to pick one and just do it.

VanillaBean Wrote:is it better to take one before the other and if so which would you suggest studying for first? Both are fairly simple tests and overlap with a lot of other business tests. It doesn't really matter which one you take first, although I took Marketing first, studied for only one week and received a 66. A couple tests later I took Management, studying for two weeks and receiving a 65. So based on that, I guess that Marketing is easier. What are you getting your degree in? Business? Your degree plan might allow you to take the Principles of Supervision DSST, which is very similar to Management and has tons of overlap. If you can take both, then I would suggest doing so. Jade

I took them both, on the same day - studied for about a week for both, not a lot of overlap, so does't really matter which one you take first.
