Which English Comp to Take ?
#1
My college accepts either the Eng. Comp with essay and the one without. Which one is easier and other than the obvious what are the other differences ? Should I take the DANTES one or the CLEP ? Please share your experiences with me.

My other question is if I pass an exam but do not have the pre-req will my college still accepts it anyway ?

Thanks all.

Hi Adrian,

Most of the study guides I have read, suggest that the version without essay is much more difficult. I have only taken the version with essay, so obviously I can't make a comparison.

The version without essay includes some sections that involve much more complex grammar and syntax questions than the version with essay. So I wouldn't doubt that the essay version is easier. However, it is all relative to what YOUR skills and abilities are.

With regard to the pre-requisites, you should contact your school and find out what their particular policy is. I'm sure this is a policy that will vary from one school to the next.

Good luck,

My other question is if I pass an exam but do not have the pre-req will my college still accepts it anyway ? I would rely ONLY on an answer from an OFFICIAL School Advisor for such a difficult question as the rest of us here would simply be guessing, or at least taking an educated guess.

Thanks all.

GOOD LUCK!!
