Quick questiom about TECEP exams. If you take an exam that has an essay, how does that work with ProctorU? For example NEG-401-TE says the exam is four essays. Do you type your answers in Word or what?

You haven't had the joy of taking a TECEP with essays yet? Well, you're in for a treat. NOT!
They have a program within the test, kind of like the old computer version of "notepad" which totally sucks as a word processing program, but does the job.

So no spellcheck or anything else helpful? Is there a dictionary? Basically avoid these exams if possible? I'm liberal arts so I have other options.

I would avoid if I could. I got mine for residency, so there was no other option.
It's not HORRIBLE or anything, but if you have other options for less money, I would do those instead.
And, no spellcheck, no dictionary, nothing helpful at all.

Thanks. I definitely want to take Abnormal Psychology through TECEP because the UExcel exam is $355. I figured as along as I am going through the process of signing up I might as well look at other tests.

The worst part about taking a TECEP with essay questions is that you have finish and submit each one SEPARATELY AND IN ORDER. No skipping ahead to pick off the easy ones first, or going back to proofread or say more on an earlier one when you find you have time left at the end. Really rough having to leave a question because you're afraid of running out of time on a later, tougher question.

With the English Comp II essays, they were not hard at all. BUT, what really sucked, was that it asked for a preliminary kind of thing (a intro to an essay kind of thing) and then I had to submit, and then the very next essay was to expand on that. Only, I didn't copy it, so I could paste it to the question. So I had to kind of make it all up again. WTF? Why wouldn't they tell you to copy it and then paste it on the next question? Or have it there for you to expand upon? Totally screwed up.
The other thing I didn't like was that it required you to have the essays be a certain length - like "between 150-200 words" or something to that effect. But then, there's no word counter! So you have to count them all yourself. Again, WTF? What is the point of this exercise, except to torture you?? Seriously screwy.
So, the exams themselves haven't been difficult, but the setup of them is beyond explanation. They need to work on that. A lot.

I really wish I had gone with Thomas Edison. :/ Excelsior is fine but Thomas Edison students have more options.

It may not be too late to change, unless you're neck deep in the capstone.
