When to send transcripts from Sophia or SDC to TESU
#41
bjcheung77, thanks
My objective for the pilot approach was more for the sake of taking a course to become active, not to get credits for FAA licensing itself. It sounds as if I need to get activated at TESU as soon as possible, so I was looking for a 1 credit course (to keep cost down) and the PLA-100 seemed to do the trick and if it turns into a credit or two then so much better. I know of only one other 1-credit course Medical Coding, or something like that but it doesn't interest me.

I'm trying to figure out how to attach my course plan.

When you're in TESU OSS, you can check your "My Profile". It'll show your Student Status and Start Date. It'll also indicate if you're active or inactive or if you are part of a Corporate Choice Enrollment. For enrollment purposes, I would pay $50 for the Medical Terminology TECEP and don't bother with the exam, skip it along with the PLA for the Pilot License, it'll cost more for the PLA course and take more energy/time from you.

I'm not so sure about the GPA not really mattering.
As an example, see this from UCA and they are AACSB.

For those who don't have the GPA or missing other requirements, each and every school out there has what is called a "conditional acceptance or admission".  Here's the one for UCA Link: https://uca.edu/gbulletin/fields-of-inst...istration/
Yup, I looked at using my PPSEL in my BSBA plan, not helpful.

Pay the 50 bucks for the 1CR medical term thing and you'll be enrolled. If you don't bother with exam, no worries, it doesn't show up in transcript.

Certificate for the Study of Capitalism at University of Arkansas finished July 2022

MBA with Hellenic American University started March 29th, 2021 , finished May 20th 2022, Graduated in June 2022

BSBA at Thomas Edison State University started May 21st 2020 with Sophia and SDC, finished Jan 24th, 2021, Graduated on 12 March of 2021

Total time to complete both degrees 2 years exactly, total cost just a small bit over $10,000

Thanks Degreeforum!

Under the student status it states:
OSAPP Non-NJ Applicant

Under start date:
12/06/19

Reading down further under catalog:
2017-2018

So this looks like I am not active. Therefore, so I have this straight, I should sign up for the Medical Terminology TECEP and then determine if I want to actually take the exam. I will become active and if I do miss the exam, it won't show up on my transcripts but at least I will not be active. Right?

You can upgrade your membership, but I'm not sure how it works with the discount promo- not sure if it applies to only 100% new memberships or if existing members can upgrade- an email to support/customer service might give you the best answer and provide any alternatives they might be able do...

In reading this thread, can someone please explain/clarify why I should take the APS-100 Med Terminology? If taken and not completed, it will not affect my GPA and/or enrollment status?

I have been accepted to TESU, but not "enrolled" as I haven't taken a course with them. I am working w/Sophia for my core requirements and would like to transfer credits via ACE after each course completion for my sanity.

My understanding is by taking APS-100 I can then transfer my completed courses over to TESU upon completion. If I wait to transfer them all at once I will run into the chance some of the courses may no longer transfer over to TESU.

Lastly, if I stay in "accepted" status and do not enroll for say 6 months, how long does the accepted status stay in place (out of curiosity)?

Thank you!

You only get 2 evaluations before you enroll. If you have not had an evaluation yet (that is , you haven't sent transcripts), there's no reason to enroll in a TECEP unless you are worried that they will stop accepting certain courses.

Taking a TECEP (pass or fail) puts you into ACTIVE student status - meaning you're classified as enrolled.  Which gives you full access to as many official evaluations you need, s locks your catalog program year, etc

TESU - ASNSM/BSBA

Thank you. I think I will take the class to be classified as enrolled. Makes more sense for me to do this.
