What next?
#1
Yesterday I passed my Astronomy DSST and now i'm trying to figure out what I should study for next. I also took the Western Civ I CLEP a few months back, so I have that under my belt as well. I could use science credit and another history. I didn't study enough when I took my American Government CLEP, so I didn't pass that one. Any ideas about what would be a good test to study for next?

Congrats on passing the Astronomy and welcome to the board! What else do you need other than the tests you've mentioned? Is that it?

I thought that Environment & Humanity was a fun and relatively easy test. At COSC, it's a science credit, but you might want to double-check if you take it.

Also, if you've studied for American Govt and need a quick and fun elective, Intro to Law Enforcement was a really enjoyable and easy test. A handful of amendments and Supreme Court cases + a few other really interesting topics = a pass that gives a letter grade if you take the non-refreshed DSST.

I didn't take any of the history tests, so I can't comment on those, but I would probably choose the one that is most interesting to you. I always have an easier time studying when the subject matter is something I want to learn about.

Since you need a history subject, how about Dantes Civil War & Reconstruction? It is probably the most straightforward test I have taken so far. And the subject is ultra interesting!
Also, it has some Am. Govt. stuff on it, like amendments, laws and stuff and you already know that.

That would be my suggestion for a history too. I took US History 1, then Civil War, and am studying for US History 2 now, and of the 3, I found Civil War the easiest to study for and definitely interesting.

Awesome, thanks for the replies. I'll check out the Civil War practice tests. I don't need any electives.Thankfully my college takes my military training and converts it towards my electives. I was interested in Biology, but that is such a broad subject with tons of questions.

I second the vote for Environment and Humanity -if you pay any attention at all, you will find it easy and interesting. Just double check to make sure YOUR college accepts it as a science. EC did toward my AS.

Yeah, Enviroment and Humanity is next. I spoke with my academic advisor and she said my school would accept it. The material is somewhat dry at times, but maybe thats because i'm sorta burnt out on studying. I took a Peterson's test and got almost 60% on it, so i don't think it will take long to get familiar with the material. Thanks for all the help!
