They are not duplicates. Excelsior gives credit for both, but I have heard that some uninformed schools will only give credit for one or the other. The majority of the content is different and they should count as two different exams. As someone else said once:
"There is a lot of overlap between the two. However, 'Intro to Computing' primarily tests that you have a basic and working knowledge of computer terminology and concepts. The 'Information Systems and Computer Applications' exam tests your knowledge of computer terminology and concepts too, but also requires knowledge of the various types of database management systems and software/systems development processes"

TESC considers them duplicates, you can only get credit for one, not both.
