What does a college diploma from COSC look like?

Also, is TESC as generous with accepting transfer credits as COSC is? I believe their tuition rates are similar. I'm leaning toward COSC, honestly, because I live in NYC and our major utility company out here is Consolidated Edison (named after Thomas Edison), so I am not sure how good that will look on my resume. I sort of want my degree not to pop out too much or be questioned lol. I'm simply earning a Bachelors to be able to apply for more various general office jobs that require it.

As others have mentioned the COSC diploma simply states "bachelor of science" or "bachelor of arts." I'm not really sure that this matter as how many employers physically want to see the diploma. My younger bro graduated from COSC years ago and has always put the following on his resume: Bachelor of Science, Business Administration. He's never had issues and is now working on his doctorate.

Regarding the question about graduate schools: If you're getting most of your credits through CLEP and DSST, it's considered non-traditional. Your grad school would be much more likely to have issues with too many test credits rather than the actual degree conferred. Most of the grad programs I've looked at list pre-requisite courses for their master, so for example, my MBA program does not require that you are a business major to be accepted. However, they do require that you have taken finance, accounting I and II and macro/microeconomics. They're ok with testing out of these classes, so hopefully I won't have problems getting accepted.

I do really like COSC as I've mentioned in other posts. It's nice that the business concentration doesn't require pre-calc like TESC does. They do want you to take a cornerstone and a capstone class, but the more experience I'm getting in my capstone, the more I think that this is a good idea. I really do think you should have some online class experience before paying tons of money to grad school. If I need to make mistakes and struggle through an online format, which can be different at first, I would much rather make those mistakes at the undergrad level for $300 a credit than at the graduate level for $900 a credit lol.

They were flexible enough for me. They've since started requiring more UL coursework for certain degree types, but to my knowledge a BSBA can still be had with up to 80 credits from LL CC coursework, at least 37 test out credits, and a capstone.

TESC allows a person to transfer in up to 120 credits from a regionally accredited 4-year college or university. They allow up to 80 credits to be transferred in from a community college. They will also accept nontraditional sources of credit, such as ACE recommendations, military training, CLEPs, DSSTs/DANTES exams, UExcel exams, and Excelsior College exams (ECEs).

I have about 54 credits that I earned at community colleges, and I intend to test out of as many credits as possible. My goal is to earn a BA from TESC almost entirely through transfer credits and testing out.

Regionally accredited meaning I can transfer community college credit from Arizona right? The tuition there is DIRT cheap and I'm finishing online classes. Glad to know we can only complete up to 80 credits from a community college. I guess I have no choice but to finish other 40 with them because the price of a 4 year college is pretty much comparable to tuition at COSC. My community college offers tuition for over 35% less than what COSC costs. Not to say it's not a decent deal, but I am tight on money and just (in all brutal honesty) trying to earn a Bachelors to slap on my resume and expand my options a bit. There are so many office jobs that do not require skills and many are entry level, but they seem to weed applicants out by requiring a Bachelors degree.

EDIT: JUst realized you were speaking of TESC. Wondering if COSC is more lenient or strict. Trying to do my research :coolgleam:

Actually, you can complete the other 40 credits through testing out (CLEPs, DANTES/DSSTs, Excelsior College exams, UExcel exams, and TECEPs). TESC requires at least 18 upper level credits for most BS/BA programs, which can be earned through certain DSSTs and Excelsior College exams. TESC is the only school of the big 3 where you can still earn a degree entirely through transfer credit and testing out. COSC and Excelsior require a capstone class that you must take at their school before earning a degree.

They're $275 per credit hour unless you're a CT resident, Tuition for Affordable Online Degree Completion and Online Courses at Charter Oak State College

It's the same price as all other COSC classes. Then of course, you have to buy a book. So $825 for the class probably about 1k total with book. They do allow a payment plan, so you have I think 30 days or so to pay in full.

Thanks Burbuja. I just read your signature and I can't believe that in just over 8 months time you have gone from having 24 B&M credits and are now at 115 credits! AMAZING!!!! How many initial credits did you attempt to transfer to COSC to start with? Was there a specific reason you decided to go with COSC instead of the other 2 places? GO YOU! Excelsior charges $335 per semester hour, TESC charges $141 per semester hour for New Jersey residents and $193 per semester hour for nonresidents of New Jersey, and COSC charges $275 per credit hour.
