I was just wondering what everyone else does with their original Diploma.
I just received my Associate's Degree (Diploma) in the mail from Excelsior.
I scanned mine and printed almost perfect duplicates so I can save my original in a fire proof safe. Is this a good idea/bad idea?
I'm planning on putting one of the copies in my house and one in my office. I also sent one to my parents in a frame since I am the first from my family to receive a college degree. My two sisters are right behind me.

cool idea! I'll frame mine nicely once I get some extra cash. I want to put my AA and BA in a double frame, and my AOS in a matching frame- so as you can guess, I'm still saving $ LOL

Jennifer,
Just do what I did. At first I wanted to have it done professionally but it was going to be almost $100 for one.
A friend suggested Hobby Lobby and so I went there. I spent $60 on two shadow frames and a regular frame and the diplomas look very very nice. Everything was 50% off at the store.
Saved a lot of money.
Can't wait to do the same thing when I get my Bachelors.

Haven't got one yet but I'm working on credits for it... I'll probably frame it and hang it in my office.

My associate's degree (earned) is in a box somewhere. Maybe the laundry room? I was really excited when I got it, but now, eh... no one really cares about an associate's on the job market around here so it lost it's shine really fast.

Congrats on your degree, because that is the most important thing right? I got my associates from a local college and they had a frame with their college name on it. Nice gimmick for extra $$ - worked on me too.
I did what you did and scanned it in, couldn't hurt If all else fails, and the Apocalypse occurs it will make for a few good minutes of fire!
although I'm pretty sure I'll just keep it on my wall, can't wait for my excelsior degree when I graduate! Congrats again on your current success!

One thing you can do is buy a pre-made frame at Michael's (with a 40% off coupon if you have one ), and then order a custom mat for it. Mats are comparatively cheap.
I plan on getting my BA custom framed though -- it's been a long time coming! hilarious

My mom gets those coupons like candy through the mail. I will have to use one on my next diploma frame! I was definitely a sucker for the gold colored lettering on the mat. Hey if you worked your behind for your degree you might as well go the whole way and treat yourself! Congrats on your success!
p.s how do you do the laughing symbol?
