Granted some exams may perhaps be easier than others but make no mistake about it there are no such thing as "gimme" exams.
Take nothing for granted and prepare yourself equally for each and every exam and you will find success and not "gimme" failure.

You betcha! This post is right on. The closest you are going to get to a "gimme exam" would probably be English Composition or one of the mathematics exams since so many people seem to be really strong in one or the other in high school, which may equate to being able to pass the exam cold. However, if you were not terribly strong in either one of these subjects, you should plan to actively study for each and every one of the exams you take. Essentially taking a CLEP is equivalent to taking a final exam without actually taking the class. Make no mistake, this is an accomplishment, not an easy thing to do.

I agree. All of these tests need to be respected. If not, BAM, big morale KILLER.

Depends somewhat on your background and what you know. I don't think you need to prepare yourself equally for all exams.
My "gimme" list (little or no study): A&I lit, Sociology, Supervision (taken after CLEP Management)
I think treating a test like this is fine, so long as you weigh the possible outcomes. If you can't afford to fail the test, don't treat it lightly. If you can afford to fail the test, and do not need that particular course (not a requirement) then go for it.
I have 5 exams I'm waiting until the end to take for the same reason.

Welcome to the board!
"Gimme tests" are the ones that you already know the subject. In my case, I had a few classes that didn't transfer in, but I used that knowledge for testing...so I had a few "gimme tests" in that regard.
Analyzing and Interpreting literature is the closest thing you will find to an easy pass- but that's presuming you actually can analyze and interpret literature LOL.
If you study and hang out here, you will notice there is a VERY high pass rate among members.

Gimme exams are the areas that you have a good working knowledge , or understanding in or of.
Basically they can be any exam that you have competent knowledge in to take the exam cold and still get a above passing score.
So you do the math and figure out which areas you excel in.

I basically agree with the others. What are you especially good at? Obviously if you really like English and are good at it, that's going to be a "gimme test" for you. I really stink at biology, but some people have told me it's a "gimme"!
