I'm trying to plan out some courses to do next and I'm wanting to take Western Civ 1&2. I'm considering doing it through either CLEP or Study, but I'm open to suggestions. Which course provider would you recommend for these classes? (And if I do CLEP, what study materials are good for each course?)

CLEP - A&I Lit, US History 1, US History 2, West Civ 1, Intro Sociology, American Lit, Humanities, Soc. Sci & History, English Lit
Sophia - Intro to Info Tech, Art History 1, Visual Communications, Managing Conflict, Building Effective Teams

Institutes - Insurance Ethics
TESU - Cornerstone, Music History 2 TECEP, LIB Capstone
Further Credits - Sophia - Conflict Resolution, Enviro Science, Microecon, Intro to Stats, Into to Ethics, Found. of Stats, Ancient Greek Philosophers, Macroecon, Intro to Business, Project Management, Accounting, Art History 2

Unless you feel completely comfortable taking these two CLEP exams cold, I would recommend taking them with Study. If you can take them cold, e.g., because you're a history buff, then that is the route I'd take.

I took Western Civilization I with SL. I liked that I could technically pass the course before the final exam, and the final exam was open book

I love history, but I'm not a history buff by any means. I'll have to skim through some of the questions to get a feel for it. If it helps any, I'll be using these courses as prep for the Social Science & History CLEP and the Humanities CLEP.

I took both Western Civ exams cold and passed them easily, but I am a bit of a history buff. I think they would not be hard to study for, no. Use some history books from the library and the Instacert flashcards.

I totally forgot about Modern States. If CLEP exams are still free through them when completing their free courses, I would go that route, supplementing them with Instacert.
