Westcott Courses and Omega Math
#1
I was on the Brandman University website and saw that they award credits for Westcott Courses and Omega math. Oddly, they aren't listed as a partner college on Westcott's website. However, WGU and many California colleges are listed. The cost of the courses seems to range from $498 to almost $1,000.

Upon further reading, it seems like most of the partner colleges accept the courses off transcripts from United States University, Brandman University, or Woodbury University.

I took Discrete Structures course through them, it was self pace and the instructor was pretty nice. You do have to set up a proctor at a local CC or some place they allow. The credits were put on an official Brandman University transcript and you get a Brandman account and email just like a regular student.

Another great resource. My son is only in 8th grade, but his school teaches Algebra I and Algebra II, with very little Geometry (he's in Algebra II). Then, when he goes to High School next year, he will be switching to the Integrated Math I, II and III sequence. So he will not have enough Geometry under his belt to succeed in Integrated Math II or III, but will have covered a lot of the Math II & III Algebra coursework. They have no idea what to do with him, but I know that I don't want him repeating so much coursework, being bored in class, and then causing trouble because of it.

So, I've decided that the best bet is to have him do a self-paced Geometry course through a college, and already have him doing Algebra I & II through Khan Academy, so that there are no gaps, and he can go straight into Precalculus when he goes into 9th grade. I can imagine that the schools will object unless I have "proof" that he knows the necessary geometry to succeed in Precalc (and I don't blame them for this).
