Seriously, today I was asked to “explain peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to an extraterrestrial.”
What are some strange questions you’ve run across in interviews?

Hm
I think they try to add some unusual ones, because people have been training for lots of normal questions.

Kind of a silly interview question, but maybe to see how well you can describe something to someone who knows absolutely nothing about the topic.

I had no issues answering. I talked about it for maybe ten minutes. They either think I’m really detail oriented or prone to complicating simple concepts. I gave in depth discussions of the components, possible issues with comprehension, and the basic algorithm for creating a pbj along with general perceptions and clarifications of where it was popular. I didn’t realize I knew so much about it! Ha!

I HATE peanut butter, including the smell (I'm gagging thinking about it), so that would be a terrible question to have to answer!

"Does the ET know English?"
"Yes"
"It's an edible thing made of bread (a flat and fluffy derivative of seeds), peanut butter, a semisolid mash of peanuts (a type of seed), and jelly, a semisolid mash of a type of fruit."
To answer your question, I had a phone interview where I was asked, "How would you repair a Jeep on Mars."
I responded, "The same way you'd repair it on Earth, minus AutoZone"

For my first interview EVER, I got asked "If you could be an animal, what would you choose and why?"
WHAT??? Who asks that for a part-time, seasonal, retail job??
