Indeed we will have to disagree, as I always found Anita Hill credible, and can never forgive those men who treated her so abominably.

It's clear from his recent events that age is taking a toll, and one has to seriously question whether he's truly capable of carrying out the duties of such an important job. No one is served by prolonging this situation if Biden truly cannot perform at the expected level. His legacy and dignity would be better protected by leaving office under his own terms, not being forced out by political realities or, God forbid, a health crisis. Tough as it is, compassion should be the priority here over short-term political calculations.

I merged several of the Biden threads with similar topics into one thread.

Anything regarding Biden's cognitive abilities or whether he will win the DNC nomination can go here.

Joe Biden could be in a coma and I’d still vote for him over Trump. Donald Trump is a selfish, lying, despicable human and should never have been allowed to run in the first place. His presidency was a total embarrassment and I am sick of hearing about him all the time. It’s like a horrible reality show playing out in real life. I don’t care about Biden’s age or his guffaws when he speaks. He comes across as a generally decent human. And for this reason - in this particular race - that’s what really matters. Full stop.

au contraire ma soeur. Donald Trump is Batman. It baffles me how he is able to live inside the heads of so many rent-free.

MEGA MAGA!

I am praying that President Biden quickly recovers from whatever ails him.

I thought it was over, that Biden would win the nomination, but...

Here we go again. PredictIt odds are back down to 43% for Biden to win the nomination, a drop of 27 points in a day yesterday.  Today he's down to only a 17% chance that he'll win the nomination

Biden tests positive for COVID, cancels speech in Las Vegas

My question:
Is it a good or bad political move to mention COVID at this point, given all the backlash from masks, shutdowns, and mandates?

Leading conspiracy theory:
They’ll say he has long COVID and use it as a new diagnosis to drop him out.

Biden says he’d consider dropping out if a ‘medical condition’ emerged.

I personally believe we shouldn't let elite estiblishment decide who we should vote for. Let the voters decide in November. This is a historic moment, though.

Turn out the lights -the party's over.

Although the election is four months away; the reality is that Donald J. Trump is already president-elect. Not only that but, due to the strife within the Democratic Party, the Grand Old Party is going to end up winning the Whole Enchilada - the Executive, the Legislative (both the Senate and the House).  The courts are pretty good as it stands. Perhaps, President Trump will even have the unprecedented honor of appointing more Supreme Court Justices.  You can hold your breath until you turn blue. You can throw yourself on the floor - kicking and screaming. Sorry, that's just the way it is.
Americans, let's enjoy this opportunity for unity.

God bless America.

I remember the last presidential campaign approaching this confident it has already won.

Not gonna lie, the question of replacing the respected but elderly leader on a short and unusual timeframe is awkward! Supremely awkward! Is there "strife" in the Beltway? Sure!

But outside the Beltway, the Democratic Party is about as coherent and united as an American major party gets.

Elections are won and lost outside the Beltway!

The Biden replacement issue is a big deal historically but there's surprisingly little acrimony in the party outside the backrooms. There was more visible acrimony in the larger party from the hotly contested presidential primaries in 08, 16, and 20. Each time the party still united, enough to win 08, 12, and 20 (and even enough in 16 to win the popular).

It's possible acrimony could increase.

I'm not whining. Do you hear someone whining? You might ask yourself which presidential candidate whines a lot, and whether Americans might get tired of whining.

It’s baffling how so many people tout Trump as being the savior of their personal finances.  He’s gaslighting EVERYONE who believes a word he says.  The Trump Cult is insane.  I mean, the dude isn’t good looking, he’s a horrible orator.  Why in the world are people falling for this con???  Are there that many stupid Americans?
