I'm looking at the Purdue Global B.S. Information Technology program. One certification that looks like it will help immensely is the "W3Schools PHP Certificate". Does anyone have experience with this certification, and if so, how difficult is it for a non-developer?
Purdue Global, BS IT
Method:
- Sophia (13 courses)
- Study.com (5 courses)
- W3Schools (PHP Certification)
- Purdue Global ExcelTrack (2 terms)

I haven't sat it personally, but someone here did mention that it's open book. That said, I doubt it'll be super easy to pass if you don't already have some knowledge of PHP.

I do web development for a living, though I've never touched PHP: it was a 35 minutes from enrollment to getting the certificate.
If you know how to program in some other language, and are familiar with SQL, it's a walk in the park. Otherwise, I guess you could Google quite a large portion of it, but if you don't have any programming experience, it might be hard to figure out what to look for.

The course itself says "Time to complete: Around 20 hours Prerequisites: Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript"
It's a non-proctored exam.
There is a PHP quiz you can take:

I can confirm, most of these questions cam up in the real deal as well. Also these: https://www.w3schools.com/quiztest/quizt...test=MySQL
You also get two tries, so if you fail the first time, you can still study and try again.

I would suggest using this reference if you take the Mysql quiz
https://www.w3schools.com/sql/sql_quickref.asp
For PHP use this
https://www.w3schools.com/php/php_examples.asp
People have made cheat sheets for PHP and MYSQL to serve as a quick reference.
You don't have to memorize things, just be able to find the answer quickly.

If it's not specifically the W3Schools certificate, it will not count as the same classes. If it is the W3Schools certificate, it should be fine.
