Anyone have a source for Videos to study/learn some of the material before a CLEP?
I was thinking about Study.com and $49.99 per month...but like the quizzes and tests....so $99 per month.
As part of the military I can get the practice tests at Petersons....but watching a video seems pretty nice means to study.

At his point beggars cant be choosers!
I only have a couple credits so pretty much anything works. At work we as a group are going to take lunch breaks to knock out the learning and take a CLEP every 3 weeks.
Our first test will be Information Systems.
We will take anything we can get!!!

I used the free video content on Khan Academy stats/prob collection plus the learner dot org Against All Odds collection together to pass that DSST stats exam! That's with pretty much no math background.

GREAT study buddy idea. It sounds like you'll all be able to keep each other going. Do any of you have library cards? Lots of libraries have DVDs (yeah, I know. I'm SUCH a dinosaur.) and you can do inter-library loans. For instance, my local (in Virginia) library system has Professor Charles Kimball's Comparative Religions. While I didn't use it when I took the test, the one Amazon review by a user of it makes me think it would be helpful for the test. (The reviewer seemed to be on a religious quest, rather than on an educational one, and didn't care for it. The poster's description, however, made it sound like it would be good for the World Religions DSST.) Just an idea.
I'm envious of you and your group, and I wish you all the luck in the world knocking credits out.

One or two of them are being "voluntold" to go. I am thankful that someone "forced" me to take free education 12 years ago. I am an IDIOT for not taking more! I had 2 years of shore duty!!

Just pay the $49.99 a month and use them to take the CLEP and DSST on your base which will be free. You'll have to source other information too like at Instantcert for when you aren't able to watch videos, I usually record the slides from instantcert and listen while I work out as well as watch the videos. You'll need to choose the tests you want to take, like if your into politics take the american government CLEP test and knock off a few credits in subjects you. Download the Peterson software from the DOD I've never used since it was really difficult for me to enjoy the layout, I used my wife's copy of the software but it took me too long to read all their sometimes irrelevant information. Watching a video can be good if you a visual learner. Choose your exam and PM me and I'll put you on the right track
Don't forget that gaining college credit by taking exams is one of the reason's we're here. That's mainly possible through the flashcards made available by the owner of this forum : InstantCert Plus of course your hard work in learning and reviewing

My sister and I were both in the military. She got great advice from someone in her chain of command about saving for retirement, and she followed it. No one advised/voluntold/ordered me to do anything educational, and I'm sorry for that. Yes, there was always some sort of educational center on post, but I was ignorant about what I was ignorant about. (I didn't know what CLEP or DSST were, or how helpful they could be.)
At my last duty station, the command sergeant major had more (and higher, I think) degrees than the battalion commander. I suspect those degrees helped him, especially during the times that the country wasn't at war and promotions, etc. were harder to come by. I hope that this educational quest will benefit you and your study buddies both personally and professionally.
