Credit sources update
#1
I just did a quick revamp of the Sources of Credit page on the wiki: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Sources_of_Credit You can now sort by cost per credit or whether UL classes are offered or not. For the non-collegiate sources, you can also see at a glance what type of courses are offered (ACE/NCCRS/RA).

Hopefully, this makes it easier for students to find what they need to complete their degree.
In progress:

Even though I've been around this site for some time off and on, I was unaware this amazing resource was here.   Many thanks for all the hard work!

Working toward a TESU BA in History, I see several upper level options that I had no idea existed.  I initially thought my options would be very limited for the requirements but I feel much better about it after reviewing many of the links provided.
West Virginia University at Parkersburg, Associate of Applied Science, Board of Governors program

Traditional College Credits (RA):
15 Credits

ALEKS & CSM Learn:
12 Credits

Straighterline:
15 Credits

Sophia:
38 Credits
Total from All Sources:
80 Credits

Also added a tentative Criminal Justice plan for TESU to the wiki.

For those of you waiting with bated breath for COSC: don't worry. It's coming. I spent the day tracking down a few more self-paced RA course options to hopefully make a few more COSC degrees available for a bit less than just taking the classes directly from COSC. I think Criminal Justice might just about be possible at COSC again. Between the residency waiver and the need for more expensive RA credits, COSC might still win as far as costs go. But I haven't looked into it that deeply yet.

I'm glad you're finding it useful! Did you see the TESU History plan? I haven't yet updated it with today's newest find: Sterling College. $145/credit. Not self-paced, but they do have a number of UL history and criminal justice options.

Yes, I did see that plan.   I'm glad to see there may be a few options for a few of the classes listed.   This place is a wealth of info and wonderful people who enjoy helping others.   Bless you!   Smile

Nice find!  $145/cr is a GREAT price.  Just an FYI, they don't allow international students; and I'm not certain you can take these courses if you live in certain states (western?).  Not sure why.

They also have two 7-week half terms inside a 14 week term, so much faster than many other schools. Summer has two 6-week terms.

Nice, thanks!!

As I am looking at COSC I found their master list of exams, it is a PDF so wasn't sure how to share the link, just search Charter Oak master exam list in the search bar and it is a 9 pages long pdf file but very useful.

Also this https://www.charteroak.edu/exams/ as a link but didn't see the master list on it.

Thank you so much for updating the Source of Credit page.

Something to do with SARA. Others have faced similar issues with NMJC and Luna. Sterling's FAQ covers this, though, and says that this doesn't matter because they are a private institution.

Thanks, I've been working from that PDF and it's not as easy as it might seem to translate that into the wiki format. At least, not into a format that I think most people will be able to understand.

And you're welcome. I think that anyone who wants to go to get a degree should be able to at least have the chance to do so and they should be able to go to the school of their choice to get the degree of their choice. If I can make that a tiny bit easier for people then I am glad.

West Texas A&M has self paced classes. They have several calc classes including diff eq which people struggle to find. Someone shared the link yesterday when asking about a stats class for the psych degree at TESU.

That someone was me.  Big Grin It wasn't already on the wiki and I hadn't seen anyone else mention them before. At $700 per class, they're a bit pricy but they do have a couple of possible gems, yes.
