Using a digital textbook during straighterline tests?
#1
Hey guys,

I was wondering if using a digital copy of a textbook would cause problems while taking a straighterline test? Many of these classes are open book, but I'm worried that having anything else open on my computer would void the test for security reasons. I definitely don't want my hard work/time to go to waste because of something like that.

My assumption is, the only time this would even come into question is during the proctored final. I'd rather be safe than sorry though. I know there are lots of straighterline users here and I'm hoping one of you has some insight for me.

Thanks!
Kas

If the course is open book you are allowed to use an E-Book. I double checked with my proctor and they did not have an issue. If you are truly concerned double check with Straighterline that you can use an E-book, if they say yes and the proctor gives you an issue refer them to straighterline. E-books are nice for open book courses because you can use ctrl f to find things. Good Luck

No problem, actually recommended. I used ebooks on every single SL test I have taken proctored included.

You definitely want to be using the eTextbook - that is what SL sells themselves for the course! The proctors know that students are using the eBook and they can see it when they take over your computer for the final exam. No worries, use the eBook!
