Yes, there is no limit to one's capacity for BS. My employer is a hospital and hospitals like to attain what is called "magnet status," which is an elite status. One criteria is a high ratio of nurses carrying BS degrees. So neither of my BS degrees count for anything in their eyes and the requirement that I must attain is the BSN. I could surpass it and get an MSN and intend to, but the one that I want leads to a nurse practitioner degree and WGU does not offer such a degree. I'll try to attain that at U of A (Alabama) in Birmingham and I think that I can do that for free.

My hospital wants the BS in Nursing ASAP thus the WGU. I believe that I can do it in one semester since, at the time, I'm only working 24hrs/week. WGU's semesters are 6 months and I can start with, as I see it now, only the core requirements of the degree and biochemistry (after hearing/seeing that WGU is the best place for biochem)>

I believe I can do the Advanced Nurse Practitioner degree at U of A because they are a NIOSH (National Institute of Occupational Safety & Health) research center. NIOSH (OSHA's research arm) pours hundreds of millions every year into their 7 research centers. Part of the money is aimed at creating Occupational Health advanced practice nurses, and that's where I fit in. Not only will they pay my tuition but actually may pay a stipend above that. It's a win/win all around.

I mention this because here's an example to show that the freebie/cheap way really does not end and can reach all the way to PhD level.

I was just about to suggest this to you I wasn't sure if this was still available, but I stumbled upon it a couple years back and thought it was a great option. I thought there were a handful of Occupational Health masters freebies out there? Illinois maybe? or Indiana? I'll see if I still have that info buried somewhere.

Going to finish the BSN in one semester? Great advice on the soc or anthro!

During my intake interview I was asked how long I believed it would take me to complete the coursework. I said two terms. Of course I've read all the posts on Allnurses from people who have finished in one term, people that started with more courses to tackle than myself.

I have not started so I am no expert, but it looks as though for some courses competency is demonstrated by examination and for other courses it is demonstrated through projects and papers. My strategy is to complete the first 12 credits with examination based courses and meet my term quota ASAP. I am in no rush. I would like things to flow casually; however, if I find that I am swiftly knocking out the courses I will try to complete it in one term.

WGU did accept my ALEKS statistics but I was going for a teaching masters not nursing. with 2 bachelors would it be cost and time saving to go for an MSN?

When was the date(year?) when WGU accepted your stats from ALEKS. I'm trying to prepare to plug pre-reqs for the MAT Elem Ed. and am hoping they will take my ALEKS Stats/Precalc.
Did you just send the transcripts via ACE?

@ilandcoli I applied in 2010. I think I had to send from ALEKS but I could not swear to that. TESC had also given me credit for ALEKS beginning and intermediate Algebra, but I also had college Algebra and Trig from a CC.
