US History II 1865-present

I just now starting my studies for this test. Does anyone have any recommendations besides the test questions? I plan to take the CLEP in a month.

Aside from searching the forums (where I wealth of information is to be had), I recommend the REA book and the IC flashcards, which is about the extent of my study for the exam. Once you start to feel prepared, take some practice exams -- they will teach you even more.

I'd probably take one more before going in. Sounds like you're almost there. (In my opinion US History II is harder than US History I.)

Hi!

This was only my second test so I’m not very good at deciding when I know enough to pass, yet. Plus, personally, I like to study long enough and know that I will pass without a problem; it’s just a matter of what score I’ll get.

I think I got scaled scores of 74 and 80 on the REA practice tests. (I thought they were too easy for good preparation.) On the test, I got a 78, which was a surprise, since I thought it was harder than US History I.

Anyway, if she scores between the two tests scores, like I did, then she is in the passing range already. I think someone else here would have a better feel for it though.

If she wants to do more studying, I really liked the AP quizzes at Historyteacher.net.

Best wishes on the exam! It looks like she’s been doing great with this!

i took the US History II test not too long ago and in my opinion all you need to do is study the instacert flashcards and look at other posts that pertain to the test. It is a pretty broad test alot of stuff about political parties, affiliations, all the presidents "deals" i.e new deal, square deal, etc. Overall I would say that it is not too hard of a test and if you pay attention some questions later on in the test answer themselves. Good Luck!

Thanks everyone! Great suggestions.

Looks like we'll schedule her test for Tuesday. A good weekend of review and she should be good to go. I'll post results.
