UMPI or TESU
#1
I am just about finished with the free degree from EGCC for an AB degree and decided to count up my courses. I want to finish quickly I am just jumping on the SDC train after finishing all of Sophia. Which do you think is best? Attached are my credits already earned Smile. Thanks in advance!

What degree do you want? For instance, if you want a Psychology degree or a Comp Sci degree then you'd choose TESU because that's the only option. If you want English, History, or a BSBA, then UMPI might be better. I would strongly suggest not just going for whatever degree is "fast". Consider your career path and what you are hoping to accomplish. A traditionally "fast" degree like a BALS is a perfectly valid choice but it is, unfortunately, not always the most employable option.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

What kind of degree are you looking for - like a major? Which of these are college courses and which are from Sophia. College courses transfer much easier everywhere. Is EGCC a community college? If you want to go to UMPI, I would skip Study courses because you need to complete a minimum of 30 credits at UMPI including a specific number of UL courses. You also have to complete a specific number of credits in your major at UMPI. You're in really good shape for the GEC (the gen eds) at UMPI.

I would like a Project Management but honestly, I would like to finish with a general BALS and work on another BASB followed by an MBA

If you want Project Management, definitely UMPI then. TESU does not have Project Management and a generic BALS at TESU would also cost more and possibly take longer than going through UMPI.

Why would you go get a BALS and then turn around and get a Business degree?  Why not just get a BSBA first, and skip the BALS entirely?

COSC has a Business degree with a PMP minor, I'm not sure how it would work if you got your PMI cert prior to enrolling and then transferred it in, but it's worth asking them (I have a feeling they would give you 9cr UL).

I agree that UMPI is a good bet for a BSBA as well.  They have a PM minor.

CSU-Global has a PM degree, and will take 90cr of alternative credit.

There are probably more.

Then go to UMPI. Here's why. UMPI has a BA in Business Administration with a Project Management concentration. Why waste your time on a BALS and then another bachelor's degree? You'll need to complete a lot of extra credits. Spend your time wisely. Get your bachelor's degree in business with a pm concentration then go onto your MBA. The BALS will be useless and meaningless once you have a degree in business. It won't serve any purpose in moving onto an MBA either.

What does the color coding on your document mean? It's hard to see what's from Sophia and EGCC. I'm trying to see if there's anything left at Sophia I would recommend you take before applying to UMPI. I do not recommend anyone take any Sophia English courses. They are MUCH easier and faster at UMPI. Waaaaaay less writing too.

So far I would say take these at Sophia:
Psychology
Sociology

Sorry for the confusion from Sophia I have taken :
College Algebra
Sociology
American History I

Conflict Resolution

Visual Communications

Intro to Computers and Use

Environmental Science
Statistics
Macroeconomics
Microeconomics

Art History I
Principles of Finance
Ancient Greek Philosophers

Art History II

Developing Effective Teams

Religions
Biology

Everything else is from the community college or previous college course work. I do have a CAPM and a Project + and some other IT certs but for UMPI I don't think that matters

Did you sign up for FAFSA last year? I went straight to UMPI after finishing Sophia, and had 19 classes left to finish in Business concentration (same amount for business versus project management). they'll also let you do a duel bachelors if you want.

You'd have to do about 19 classes with them unless you transfer to others. I'm paying about $200 a month right now for mine and I'll be done in 1-2 terms. If you know your content it's pretty good. It's going to cost me only $2800 to finish my entire degree versus TESU being near 7k. I plan on using the savings to get a masters <3

EDIT: You have a CAPM? PLA that shit! That's worth upper level credits right there. It could cover several classes :O

Are the courses similar to Sophia in terms of layout and assessments?
