Please let us know if they accept the course after you send in the transcript!

In many areas the CLEP testing centers have been closed since last March. We can't take CLEPs where I am. I'd have to leave the state to do and that's a whole nightmare with quarantining and Covid testing. Totally not worth all of that for most of us.

In addition to what ss20ts already said, there are a lot of people who don't live anywhere near a testing center. You might as well replace "just take a CLEP" with "just go to the moon". Even without covid, there are a lot more costs to consider than just the exam and proctoring fees. I am so glad that there are more options available than just CLEP exams these days!

Not sure if you can do this for credit there, but you could ask them about the ACTFL/LTI Spanish exam - Speaking is $108, Listening is $51, and Reading is $51. You do them right on your computer, and they're worth ACE credit (and quite a lot if you score high). I'm not certain they have badges yet to put on your Acclaim/ACE transcript, but they do have a report you can get showing your level, and the ACE National Guide showing the number of ACE credit that score is worth.

ACTFL shows no badge right now at acclaim.
What you should then? Maybe show the results... but if they are ACE credits should show the credits somewhere, no?

Contact ACTFL. You'll need a transcript for their credits.

InstantCert’s Spanish course is done Just have to wait a couple of days for my rpnow to be reviewed and I’m good to go. Love Instantcert btw I’ve already done a couple courses through them and this one I breezed through since I knew most of the content. Plus can’t go wrong for $35 in the comfort of my own home. ss20ts I’ll let you know once it’s officially accepted at UMPI.
I’ve contemplated taking the ACTFL but since I was going for a business degree it never made sense to drop the extra money.
This will officially put me at 12 courses at UMPI. Wish I could be down to 10 but I don’t know if that’s feasible with what I have left requirement wise so I guess I’ll just twiddle my thumbs till 3/15.

You'll be paying the same at UMPI for 10 classes and 12 classes unless you take an extra term.

I know I’m just hoping to finish in 2 terms but work will be crazy the next couple of months so I’m not sure how many classes I’ll be able to crank out.

I'll say this....some courses have VERY easy Final Assessments. American Government and English Composition II are the easiest classes I've ever done...ANYWHERE! Spanish I was also wicked easy.

Did you have any prior knowledge of Spanish? One of the main reasons UMPI isn't high on my list is the foreign language and lab requirements for a natural science, as I was working toward TESU with no lab requirement and I've already taken a couple of science classes. Plus I know enough to count to 10 in Spanish and that's pretty much it.
