They had a ton of reading in their program. Some of it needed to be recorded for those people who can't just read all the time, or maybe are blind. Screen readers only go so far. I am lucky to have my sight, but I was using a third-party service to read some of the text to me because I have a hard time sitting up for extended periods of time. Every time I would use the third party service to auto translate from text to speech (regardless of which third-party text reader I used) It did annoying things like repeat the page name and number each time, as well as read all the citations.
UMPI is mostly reading. All of the content is included in each course. There are some videos. Not sure if every class has videos. So far, most of my videos have been on YouTube and CC is available on most of them.
Even though all of the reading is in the course, it's not like you're sitting down to read chapter after chapter in a textbook - digital or print. What third party apps do you use? I can test them out and se if they are compatible with the website. It won't give page numbers because there's no page numbers. Rarely are there citations on a page.
