If you have the energy and time to study for CLEP using Modern States, that would work as they do accept certain CLEPs.  Here's the page, they have a link for the equivalency list: https://www.umpi.edu/offices/testing-services/clep/
Hi!!
1. I took the Modern States Spanish course and just got my voucher to take the test. As I am filling  out the forms, it asks if I want my test score to be sent to an institution. Should I have it sent to UMPI right away? or send to me and pay to send to UMPI afterwards?

2. I started taking Enviromental Sciences and Intro to Ethics on Sophia. I figured taking CHemistry or Biology courses on modern states is definitely harder and takes longer, so thanks for the advice.

Thanks!

Hi everyone!
I got my transfer credit report from UMPI (I applied to session 1 Spring 2025) and it turns out they accepted almost everything I had (80 credits), but I still need more than 30 credits towards some General ed classes. (30 from Sophia, 3 credits from one course from study.com and 3 credits from coursera)
I am currently taking Sophia courses. I have not sent UMPI any transcripts from Sophia, since I was waiting to finish all the recommended courses then send final transcript at once. The courses I am taking, and that I certainly need to fulfill a bunch of general ed. classes add up to 30 credits.

My concern is: since UMPI accepts up to 90 credits, what's  the chance they will accept 30 from Sophia once I finish those classes? I would end up with 110 transferred credits total and I havent even included the 6 credits from study dot com and coursera!!

I am freaking out, help  please!

And thanks so much for sharing your knowledge with all of us newbies Smile

You're overthinking too much... You can have more than 110, 120, whatever the number is that you're going to get, transferred into UMPI... Only 90 will go into your degree, you can select the 10 classes or 30 credits you want to complete at UMPI, that's all there is to it. Many people transfer way more than 120, but because those classes don't correspond to an equivalent requirement at UMPI, those go into the electives, once the electives are filled, those extra credits are under the 'other classes' area and doesn't affect your degree progress.
