Has anyone have taken or know someone who have taken the graduate program at UMass? The competency based program MAOL? I reviewed their 6 months subscription for $3,500 don't seem bad. And also I've been told that they've removed the proctored exams for all programs which is interesting. Does anyone have any insight on the program how courses are structured or grading difficulty.

It's the exact same program as UMPI's MAOL. This is the original program. It's a LOT of papers. Both schools use the Strut Learning Platform. The MAOL was always papers and not exams as far as I know. I spoke with admissions in great detail about the program and was told repeatedly to expect the program to take over a year.

I think UMPI's program has been restructured slightly so that the papers are shorter and it relies less on unavailable logins? If so, you'd be paying slightly more for UMPI but you'd have a bit less work.

I recently spoke with someone according to I was told you only have one final assessment. NO ADDITIONAL WRITING IN BETWEEN. You have chapters in modules within the course but nothing account towards the end grade just like UMPI. It will be awesome to hear from someone who's actually in the program.

From this board or the sister board, I don't recall anyone taking the UMASS Global MAOL. The main difference is the pricing as they use the same system as UMPI, their sessions/term fee is different. I am guessing, if someone at UMPI can finish in two sessions, someone should be able to finish in 1 session at UMass global. Technically different teachers marking the same course content...

This is an interesting program. I like the various tracks they offer. They have Project Management, Military, and even an option that lets you transfer in 12 credits.
If you choose to go ahead with the program, be sure to keep up all updated.

Those tracks aren't really all available in the CBE program of the degree. The Standard Track is really the only option. Military track has a bunch of restrictions even for military folks. The PM track is only an option if you have completed a specific PM certificate. When I was looking into this degree last year the certificate was only available in person, was over $3000, and took almost a year to complete.
Students complete one of the three tracks in Domain 3; 1) Standard Track; 2) Military Track for eligible military and veterans only; and, 3) Project Management Track for students who have completed the UC, Irvine Extension Project Management Certificate.

Spoke with who though? The UMPI MAOL does have a great deal of writing in the Learning Outcomes. I can't imagine UMass took those out of their MAOL. I haven't seen anyone on here attend UMass Global. You may want to search Reddit and other forums. If you want a true UMass degree then you need to take a UMass online degree from one of the UMass campuses. This is Brandman repackaged like PUG is repackaged Kaplan. If you have a BABA from UMPI you're waived from 3 courses in the MAOL if you completed those specific courses at UMPI.

"Spoke to who though?" Obviously an academic advisors, coaches, and others at UMass.
"If you want a true UMass degree then you need to take a UMass online degree from one of the UMass campuses." What does that even mean? Regardless of the format or the delivery the degree will weight the same on the market. Not like this is a lvy league School.
As stated before it would be great to heard from someone in the program. Once you enroll into one of the Grad programs your feedback would be awesome, fantastic, and useful. Meanwhile.
