Would appreciate some help figuring this out! My bro needs the following courses to finish his BALS with a general management concentration through tesu:
MAN-415 Change Management
NEG-401 Negotiations and Conflict Management
PSY-360 Organizational Theory
PSY-363 Industrial Psychology
MAN-373 Managerial Communication
Does the DSST PSY-361 Organizational Behavior fill the Organizational theory slot? He may have already taken that dsst (he's waiting on transcripts to know for sure) but he's wondering if that's a tentative possibility to stick that in there?
He needs to take a tecep to enroll, the only two on this list are Man-373 and Neg-401 (right?). He's not sure if he should take both of them as teceps? Also, which is a better testing experience for Man-373...Saylor or or tecep?
I'd so appreciate if you guys could weigh in with suggestions for where to take these courses and any feedback on how hard/easy these courses are. TIA!
P.S. - I don't have time to search the forum for these questions...forgive me if this is a repeat thread!!

Many of these can be completed through CSU-Global CBE's:
Change Management - check to see if CSU-Global's Org Innovation & Change will work, if not that will be an expensive option to take it at TESU
Negotiations & Conflict Management - TECEP, CSU-Global
Org Theory - CSU-Global's Modern Org Theory (Org Behavior won't work here)
Industrial Psych - CSU-Global's Applied Org Psych
Managerial Comm - Saylor, SL, Study.com, TECEP

Organizational Behavior meets the UL requirement at TESU for the BA in Liberal Studies. I am working on it now and it is the last exam I need for my degree. I am in the Capstone course now, which is required at TESU. Additional UL exams and classes I took for this degree includethe Intro to World Religions DSST, Western Religions (at TESU - the only other class I've taken at TESU besides the Capstone), A History of Vietnam War DSST, and the Substance Abuse DSST. I know that Management Information Systems also meets the upper level requirement. I looked at it and didn't like it much so I decided to try Organizational Behavior instead as I have recently taken other exams that will better prepare me for this one. Hopefully in 6 weeks I'll be finished!

This is specifically for the BALS with a concentration in General Management, which is a new thing at TESU. They have 5 specific courses for that concentration.

Hey guys! eeya:
My bro got his evaluation from tesu, and he has more UL credits than he realized so he's skipping the gen mgmt concentration and just going with whatever fits to finish. He's currently at 99 credits... Here's the AOS portion of his eval:

2: Liberal Studies (30 SH: 15SH at upper level) (In progress)
Credits Earned: 21 GPA Achieved/Needed: 3.667 / 2.000 Complete both subrequirements:
A: Upper Level (15 SH) (In progress)
At least TWO or more different areas must be included within the entire Concentration to provide breadth of knowledge in the Liberal Studies Area.

Since he's no longer doing the gen mgmt. concentration, what would be his best options for which UL courses he should stick in there? He wants to enroll within this week, so he needs at least 1 tecep or tesu course. It might be helpful for you to know...to finish, he also needs to complete the capstone and 3 other courses--oral communication, ethics, & civic engagement. Would it be an option or even a good idea to do a tecep to fulfil the civic engagement slot?

*bump* Any thoughts? He needs to enroll this week, but he's not sure which tecep to take. Maybe someone could link me to a thread that outlines which are the most popular UL courses for Liberal Studies? TIA!

If he is going to register for the cornerstone or capstone soon, then he doesn't need to take a TECEP.
Popular UL courses for the BALS:
Saylor - Corporate Comm
DSST - Substance Abuse, History of the Vietnam War, History of the Soviet Union, Management Info System, Cybersecurity - plus check to see if any of the Business courses can be used now (Business Ethics and Society, HRM, Prin of Finance, Money & Banking)
UExcel has a bunch
TECEP - Managerial Communications, Marketing Comm count as COM courses - plus check to see if any of the business courses can be used
SL - Business Comm, Microbiology
Study.com - Pathophysiology, Microbiology, Vietnam War, Abnormal Psych, Research Methods in Psych, Social Psych - plus business courses
The reason I'm unsure about the business courses is because they used to not be considered Gen Ed and couldn't be used in the BALS, but since TESU changed the degree and added a Business concentration, I'm not sure if that is still the rule.
Also, before taking any of these, I would call TESU and get them preplanned into your degree. That way you know for sure before you take anything that it will work.

If he needs a TECEP, try the UL PSY-350 Abnormal Psychology.
BA, MA, EdS, MMT, etc.
83 hours of ACE-worthy credits

Thanks for the suggestions, dfrecore and KayV! You gave him a much clearer idea of "where to go" next.
He's registering for a tecep before the capstone because he wants an easier first course that he can complete before Christmas break, so that he'll definitely be locked into his enrollment before Dec 31st, which is tesu's acceptance expiration deadline for a few of the UL DSSTs he's transferring in.
Thanks again for stepping us through this...you guys are really great!
