Straighterline courses are all ACE-recommended for LL except Managerial Accounting.

1. So if she gears toward 30 UL from Saylor & Davar (mostly business are UL) then her depth has to be in Business? I do not know anymore UL apart from SDC and from what I heard SL UL is just Cost Accounting and Biology with Lab.
2. Is the SDC discount only avail if you take most the classes there, or even if you only take one class?
3. You did mention to me before ACTFL Language Exams are unsure how they are accepted at EC and COSC, i wonder if they do, will that feel the DEPTH requirements plus a few more UL courses?
This could be so frustrating, but I appreciate all your knowledgeable advice.
1. At COSC, if getting the BSLS, only 1 portion of the concentration can be a non-liberal arts area like business; the second portion has to be liberal arts.
At EC, if getting the BSLA, only 1 depth can be a non-liberal arts area
At TESU, if getting the BALS, all of the area of study courses (major/concentration) have to be liberal arts courses
2. the SDC discount is available with even 1 course brought into any of the schools
3. for the ACTFL exams, I think your best bet is to take them and then see how each school brings them in. It's worth $100 to take a shot. If you got a top score that netted you 6cr UL/6cr LL, then that would certainly work for most of the depth/concentration, although you'd need 1 more LL course in that language for EC. But we know for sure that TESU will take them.
I think you can't know which school to choose until you decide on a concentration/depth, and know how the ACTFL courses will come in. So your best bet is to take the exams, then apply at all 3 schools to see how they come in. Report back here so we can help you!

Thanks! If she gears towards COSC, where would you advice her UL to come from apart form trying out the Language Exams. would Saylor and Davar work? She might as well take 1 or 2 SDC UL.. I didn’t expect EC to be that expensive! Thanks for sharing that.
Should she pay the app fee for a counselor to direct her what to plan for her concentration at COSC then waiting to transfer, and find out not all she took even transfers from Sophia?
Will she benefit taking all the Sophia for COSC? I heard they accept mkre Sophia tree courses than TESU

I'm pretty sure that TESU accepts most/all Sophia courses, they just haven't updated the relevant page(s) yet. Since they're free, it doesn't hurt to take them all and see what they say. That's what I'm currently doing myself. She doesn't have to complete them all by July 31st for them to be free, she simply has to register for them and can set the actual start date into the future.

I expected that most of the Sophia would transfer more so that’s just 57 credits... i hope the others like history 1, etc will be accepted otherwise then I would have to find other sources.

That is not updated with any of their newer (2019-ish) courses. I expect that they will all come in as anticipated.

Sorry again to keep asking but if my sis gear towards COSC route, or even TESU, what should she do now with all the resources she tries to avail
Sophia - assuming all 25 courses transfer (71 credits) - (2 class have 1 credits and not including - college algebra and stats - taken at Aleks) = (71 credits at Sophia) TEEX - 10credits (3 Cyber Electives?) Death Investigation - 3credits (UL) The Institutes Ethics - 3credits CSMLearn - 3credits ALEKS - 9 credits (College Algebra, Trig, Stats)
= 99 credits(with 1x 3 credit UL Death Investigation) = 15 credits left ( She needs more UL though if she goes to COSC vs TESU )
- Could this format work?
- Where should she take the rest of her classes? She still needs 30 UL for COSC.
- Could Language Exams fulfill the reaming of her UL gearing towards Humanities? Saylor, Davar?
I know I keep repeating myself here and it has been answered, but I guess I am still confused, It is hard to wait till she completes all this before finding out because so much planning is involved financially and time due to her health situation too.

Hi, new user here. First, a huge thanks to all you who put out on these boards to help out the rest of us. Bkcheung77 been especially helpful, detailed,
That said, regarding these UL credits, anyone familiar with Study, InstaCert and SL Upper level courses in something other than a science or tech field? Lib. Arts, Communications, General Studies..for transfer to Cosc. I would soo love a comprehensive list of UL COSC courses and their equivalencies from other sources. Seems like the collective experience here might have that.
Thanks, and pardon if this list already exists and I just didn't search properly for it.

A public list does not exist, some of us have lists but will not post them here because they change frequently. It would get out into the world, and then people would use the list (even ones years old) and be sadly disappointed when they didn't work.

You actually need a degree plan for each school, to see where all of the credits fall. It's not just a matter of taking 120 random credits, they have to "fit" into a degree plan.
As I told you when you PM'd me, nobody on here has reported back after sending the ACTFL courses to COSC, so it's impossible for us to know where those would fall. Your only option is to take the tests, then send them in for an eval. TESU has definitely taken the ACTFL courses, but no one has reported course equivalencies for all 4 exams. You REALLY just have to take the tests, and then send them in to get the info. You can't have us do all of the work for you, sometimes you have to do the leg work and contribute to this forum as well.
A TESU degree is easy, here is a plan.
For COSC:
- you need a lab science
- Saylor doesn't have any UL courses in the BALS area, but they have 3 UL business courses she could use there (she'd have to get the BSLS rather than the BALS)
- I don't think they accept Davar credits, so those are out
- There are UL UExcel exams that will work, but you have to go to a PearsonVUE testing center to take them
- Study.com has UL BALS courses that will work
- they don't take Coopersmith which has a bunch of UL
- they require that you get your concentration pre-approved, and it's coherent
I created a COSC plan, but there are assumptions:
1) you score high on the ACTFL OPIc and WPT, and COSC brings those in as 6crUL/6crLL for both exams
2) you get a concentration in Foreign Language & International Business, and it's approved (you'll need Study.com rather than Saylor for this)
Honestly, you just first need to have her do the ACTFL exams, and then send those in. Everything hinges on her getting those credits. Until you see what they come in as, you're kind of stuck - you don't know if you'll have enough UL, and you don't know if you'll have a good concentration (COSC). And you won't know how many other courses you'll need from the other course providers.
