UL Economics courses
#1
Hi everyone, I've been working on a BA in Economics at TESC. Right now I'm at 40.4 credits (0.4 from the FEMA course Smile). I'm not enrolled at TESC but have been working on my own. I want to get as far as I can without enrolling because of costs. I've been trying to figure out where to get my UL credits. I can get 3 from TESC and 6 from DSSTs. Now for the rest I'm not sure. I will need 21 more credits. I checked elearners.com and they have some courses. But will they transfer? I've included a list of the courses, so if anyone could please help figure this out, I would really appreciate it.

Fundamentals of Economics (EC 205) - Self-Paced
by University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Intermediate Microeconomics (EC 301) - Self-Paced
by University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Economics for Business I (ECO 360)
by University of Phoenix

Economics for Business II (ECO 361)
by University of Phoenix

Economics for Managerial Decision Making (ECO 533)
by University of Phoenix

Foundations of Free Market System (PHL 466)
by University of Phoenix

An Electronic Companion to Intermediate Macroeconomics
by Learn.com [I don't know about the accreditation of this one]

There are some others courses from this company called CBT, but I've never heard of them.

Thanks everyone for the help you've already given me.

I just wanted to mention that TESC grants a credit per FEMA class they accept. They will accept up to 25 credits towards your free electives. So you shouldn't have a .4 credit from FEMA Smile

Well....yeah....I know. I really have 10.4 credits from FEMA so far, but they may not accept the 0.4 credit. I don't know.

Wow, you've got some expensive choices on your list. U of Phoenix is not cheap. UNC is only reasonable if you live in North Carolina; the out-of-state costs get pricey. Here are some less expensive upper-level econimics courses, which are offered by regionally-accredited institutions.

Adams State College
$375 per 3-credit course
Adams State College Distance Learning Economics Courses
ECON 425 Economic Policy
ECON 433 Managerial Economics

Ohio University
$564 per 4-quarter hour (~2.67 semester hours) course if taken via correspondence. Some courses also have the option of taking the course via the web instead of via correspondence, for an additional cost.
Ohio University Distance Learning Economics Courses
ECON 303 Microeconomics
ECON 305 Managerial Economics
ECON 320 Labor Economics
ECON 340 International Trade
ECON 360 Money and Banking

Thanks I'll check those out.

I'm still not sure how to find out if TESC will accept them, without being enrolled. I live North Carolina so UNC should not be too pricey. I'm still not sure if I can do most of the courses online that I'll need, but I'm going to try.
